Can the South Indian movie audience change their mindset to watch slim, fit and svelte women?

I have seen it so many times - girl enters the industry, sort of (at least) slim, she has curves and is not one big curve herself and suddenly, just 2 more movies later... she looks like the Michelin Man's sister! What IS it with loving the sight of huge, jiggly layers of fat oozing over and down clothes, looking like a cellulite factory on overtime?

Yeah, ok, actresses are definitely becoming more body-conscious now, but the PEOPLE's mindset doesn't seem to have changed!

Tks guys! Only the public can make that demand for experimental movies... Not the same mindless stuff with sexy, brainless women with no self-esteem (just oodles of malli-poo and the confusing concept of 'panpaadu') and the public loves it. Hah! posted by schueshine on 13-Nov-2007 3:38:19 AM
even if they were to change their perception about women in general and the mindset about actress ...well there is this new item’s item number on the screen giving those excellent moves, thrusts - pelvic, chest, et all... life goes on ! posted by cranks_gnyaanm on 13-Aug-2007 12:49:37 PM
you see there are various age groups who define feminity with their own mind set and talking about mindset men will never accept if their beloved women apes a la shreya, Asin, etc posted by cranks_gnyaanm on 13-Aug-2007 12:49:15 PM
and the heroes will be cooing around with actress who would be fit enough to be their granddaughter irrespective of all their drawbacks ! Cinema IS essentially a MCP’s world! posted by cranks_gnyaanm on 13-Aug-2007 12:48:49 PM
apart from over oozing flab in a actress is the fact that most of us know that – actress seem to come with a entry and exit date of course with certain exceptions who thrive doing odd roles while rest just fade away in oblivion posted by cranks_gnyaanm on 13-Aug-2007 12:47:42 PM
... The paradox is audiences really don’t really seem to bother about this except the producer/director/hero! posted by cranks_gnyaanm on 13-Aug-2007 12:47:03 PM

Slim doesnot mean fit. May be it not a pleasant sight to watch big actresses on the screen. but it would be nice to watch some real women. Women with real bodies, not starved skinny bimbos. posted by padmaiyer75 on 9-Aug-2007 4:24:45 PM
Well, I feel that I am least bothered about an actor or actress looking like balloons and pins. I rather go for the story and see if the actor and actresses suit their costumes and roles. posted by revathiselva on 6-Aug-2007 12:32:41 PM
